The Eureka Mobile App lets participants browse and join research studies with the touch of a button. From their own devices, any participant can easily become a citizen-scientist, contributing to their favorite health causes. Eureka is a non-profit resource built by the researchers a the University of California with support from the National Institute of Health.

The mission of the Eureka Research Platform (formerly known as Health ePeople Resource for Mobilizing Research) is to enable discoveries that make the world a healthier place. By providing a flexible technology for researchers to conduct mobile health our team strives to:

  1. Provide an infrastructure for efficient data collection storage that can be configured to support internet-, sensor- or mobile phone app-based research studies.
  2. Engage a diverse population who wish to participate in technology-enabled research, help them find relevant research studies, and support and streamline sharing of their data with those studies.
  3. Create a repository of mobile health data for analyses.

We are committed to helping researchers use data donated by the Eureka community of volunteer participants to make the biggest and most positive impact that they can make.

Our team is a group of experienced clinical researchers, epidemiologists, user experience experts, programmers, data scientists, and study coordinators. Our team’s expertise for the Eureka Research Platform builds on the success of the innovative Health eHeart Study, which harnesses the power of online and mobile technology to gather data from study participants all over the world through devices such as mobile applications, sensors, connected devices, and the internet. The “bricks and mortar” days have passed, we have over 100K active participants and growing contributing data remotely and stored in the cloud!
